About the Course
This course will discuss the basic concepts of Ayurvedic lifestyle that emphasize health promotion. The role of the mind, and emotions in a person’s health will also be discussed. Additionally, the students will obtain adequate knowledge about the code of conduct, daily routine, seasonal routine, and night routine to promote health and wellness care
Learning Objectives:
- Define SWASTHA, the Ayurvedic approach to health, and the four facets of life: DHARMA, ARTHA, KAMA, MOKSHA
- Determine an individual’s constitution (PRAKRITI) from an Ayurvedic perspective.
- Define the role of MANAS in health.
- Define 3 pillars of life (TRAYOPASTAMBHA): AHARA, NIDRA, and BRAHMACHARYA.
- Describe daily routine (Dinacharya) and its components with application to one’s self
- Describe night routine (Ratricharya) with application to one’s self
- Describe seasonal routine (Rutucharya) and its components with application to one’s self.
- Describe Code of Conduct (Achara Rasayana) and its components with application to one’s self.
