“Vaidya Sumith Kumar is a distinguished Ayurveda practitioner and academician from Kerala, India, with specialized expertise in the foundational principles and clinical applications of Ayurveda. Currently, he is also serving as Professor and Head of the Department at the School of Ayurveda, P P Savani University in Surat. Dr. Kumar’s rigorous academic foundation includes a Bachelor of Ayurvedic Medicine and Surgery (B.A.M.S.) and a Master of Ayurveda Siddhanta (M.D.) from esteemed institutions affiliated with Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences, Karnataka. He further advanced his expertise by earning a Ph.D. in Ayurveda from the KLE Academy of Higher Education & Research, where his doctoral research focused on the complex dynamics of metabolically healthy obesity.
Throughout his career across several prestigious institutions, Dr. Kumar has demonstrated a strong commitment to both academic excellence and innovation. His contributions span curriculum development, clinical trial participation to validate Ayurvedic protocols, and numerous scholarly publications and national seminar presentations. Notably, he has also spearheaded the integration of technology into Ayurvedic education, previously serving as Chief Coordinator of IT initiatives.
